Hey guys! I am pretty new to the SSO forums, I am mostly a lone wolf player, but with my current issue, I wanted to break my silence and chat about it.
The sound isn't working for some reason.
- Sound Effects: There is no background sound whatsoever. I am talking birds chirping and things like that. The level up sound works a bit, but is abruptly cut off, as well as the daily chore sounds, like my horse munching on hay is abruptly cut off. Though other random sounds work, like my horse moving and nickering or when npc characters mumble when you talk to them. The fountains make sound when you ride up to them as well. But a lot of background sounds no longer work.
- Music: This is the big concern of mine. NONE of the music is working. No race music, no town music, not even music when staying the night or riding the ferry. Even the cute music that plays when you are riding through the Greendale woods isn't working at all. This is the most annoying thing I have been experiencing. Like, for me, I recently just got to the part where I meet Fripp. Like, that is a big deal for me since I was a huge Starshine Legacy nerd when I was a teen when if first came out in 05 and seeing Fripp made me fan girl big time haha. But, this was a part of the game where I was excited to hear that haunting music that usually plays during more serious or mystical scenes like that. I feel like it kinda ruined the "magic" of the scene for me and make the experience of it kinda dull. Plus it makes game play dull in general. I love the SSO music (especially since they use a lot of the old Starshine Legacy music), so to not hear it at all or even any background sounds in general kinda bites big time.
Anyone else experiencing this?
I was wondering if it was on their end, or my end since I am visiting home and using my mom's old HP laptop (running windows 7). Just two weeks ago when I was back at my house (not my mom's) I was playing on my desktop (an Acer running windows 8) the sound was working just fine. Is there a way to fix this or will I just have to wait to see if the SSO staff can fix it? I was also wondering if switching servers would help? I am currently on the Raspberry Valley server.
I hope to hear from anyone experiencing this or find out a way to fix it!!!
