What is your character's backstory? And if they have one, what is their full name (character's, not real life's). I'll start first!
My name is Anella Yellow Emeraldforest. People just nickname me Ane. I like my nickname, because when they say my nickname and my last name, it sounds like "An emerald forest". I've always had a strong love for horses, but where we lived, there were no horses or horse riding centres. I was heartbroken, and had to live with horse books, horse toys, horse TV shows, and horse movies. I was never satisfied. Then, when I turned 18, my parents sent me to an island dedicated to horses called Jorvik. I was greeted at Moorland Stables by very nice people. I discovered lots of new lands, made many new friends, and my goal is to get a full stable (with at least 1 Jorvik Wild Horse, possibly 2, they don't deserve to be lonely, you know?). That is my story, and my name is Anella. Goodbye for now! xx

Let's go for my Character's backstory *~* Elena's name in game is Crazylund, but for Roleplaying and such it's Beausang
Elena is not a Soul Rider.
『☆』ᎬᏞᎬNᎪ ᏴᎬᎪᏌᏚᎪNᏩ ᏴᎪᏟKᏚᎢᎾᎡY『☆』
Elena Evangeline Beausang, is a eighteem years old Girl, her mother is French, and her father… Pandorian. Elena is born in France, her mother though it would be a better idea to raise her daughter in a place with fresh air, and green and blue Landscapes. Elena doesn't know a lot about her father, she have never seen him before, she just know that he have platinum blonde hairs, he and her mother loved each other a lot and that they met when her mother was lost in Valedale, and that he is a "Pandorian".
When Elena was fourteen, her mother told her everything about a land called Jorvik, and the Druids of this land, Dark Core, The Soul Riders, and Pandoria, and how her father suddenly disappeared.
So, after this revelation, Elena decided to move to Jorvik to discover where her father is, and bring him home.
Elena quit her home and since a fourteen can not live on her own house, she is taken care by a friend of her mother, a women called Nora who lives with her daughter, Susan, in Firgrove.
She went on different villages like Valedale, Silverglade, Dundull, and many others, if some people knew a strange man with platinum blond hairs, but no result.
One day, when she was exploring Valedale's Forest, she met on a Lusitano, a mare called Moonstone… Who can talk! Elena was at first really surprised, but when she remembered that her mother told her about some horses in Jorvik who were "Starbreeds", Elena calmed down. The mare was as surprised as the human girl when she said that she knew about the existence of the Keepers of Aideen and Pandoria. Moonstone is actually a mare that belongs to the Keepers of Aideens, and a Starbreed, but she escaped not wanting to be in their services
Elena told the mare all about her father and that he is a pandorian, she tells the mare that she want to join the Keepers of Aideen to find her father.
But Moonstone tells Elena to ABSOLUTELY NOT see the Keepers of Aideen and tell them about her father, if the Keepers learn about the human girl that is Half-Pandorian and that want to go to Pandoria, they would probably throw her in their prison.
Moonstone decide to help Elena in her researches, Moonstone being against the Keepers of Aideens and their view about the Pandorians
At sixteen years old, Elena discover her powers. As an Half-Pandorian, she can create portals to Pandoria, since then, she always go to Pandoria to check if her father is here… her hairs that were blond before, changed to platinum Blond by going to Pandoria too much times.
To this day, Elena is still trying to find her father with Moonstone. _______________________________________________
PS: Elena is not a rider actually, she might talk to Moonstone and ride her sometimes, but she never rode a horse in a club with a saddle and reins. Moonstone is actually the one who decide if she want to walk, trot, or gallop, Elena just go with it.

Here used to locate the old backstory of my character, but I decided to redo it.
April Linnea Skyberg is 22 years old woman who is half Jorvikian and half Scottish. She was never supposed to stay in Jorvik, not to mention in the small county of Silverglade, but sometimes things like that just happen.
She was supposed to leave for a university to become a physics major, but since she didn't get in right on the first try, she decided to spend her gap year in Silverglade, where she knew she would find quite a variety of small jobs and cheap inns to stay in. She started working in stables, first at Moorland, then at Steve's and lastly in the Silverglade Equestrian Centre. By then, she had bought not only one but two horses: The retired eventer Everhope and a young promise, a black Thoroughbred called Angelhunter (One of the first buyable horses introduced in the game!<3).
Soon enough, she got sucked in to the Circle of Aideen and found the truth about Jorvik. After then, leaving for a university didn't feel so attractive anymore, not to mention keeping horses was unbelievably inexpensive in Silverglade - as there were many, many barns in there and its neighbouring counties Goldenhills, Mistfall and the major Harvest Counties.
April had gained a lot of popularity through her work and even more after joining the Druids. Not even four years later, she has a barn full of horses of her own, for many purposes: Schooling, trail riding, western disciplines, English showing, flat racing... The people of Silverglade constantly rely on her help which makes it possible for April to manage with her horses and to have an apartment of her own in Valedale.

I posted my possible character backstories somewhere else on the forum, but that was a while ago. The one that I usually use is as follows:
Lily Catstar was sixteen when her parents died. She lived in California and rode casually. She didn't own a horse but sometimes competed locally. After her parents died, she inherited her old family stable on Jorvik. Since the house in California is too sad to live in, she moves to the stable and starts her new life there.

My name is Veronika Opalwood. I was born in Po, a little but beautiful village in France. I was born without a father neither have brothers. I had just one horse back then, his name is Nightwish and he's a Tinker horse. He has been my companion for eight years. Po was the place of my dreams, I really didn't want to go anywhere else. I had everything I wanted there and more. Nightwish and I were (and are) perfect in dressage and jumping competitions, and we practiced daily and basically my life consisted of spending my time with him. But one day my grandmother came to me with a letter on her hand, and with a big smile she told me to read it. I opened it. "Greetings, Veronika Opalwood. You have been chosen from the Jorvik Council to go to the magical land of Jorvik, the paradise of all equestrians. It's a honor for us to tell you that you, Veronika, was chosen among thirtheen people to come and join us. You will get your own stable and you will start a new life, full of adventures, friends, discoveries, mysteries and more. We checked your scores on dressage and jumping, and we're impressed. It would be nice to have an Opalwood again. For more information, contact us. Thanks in advance, Jorvik Federation (Silverglade)" I firsly said no, with a firm voice. My life was perfect, but it was about to get even better. My grandma told me that, if I didn't go to Jorvik, I would be sorry for the rest of my life. She then mentioned some "Guardians of Aideen" and how she was a Druid. I later on was convinced and made the decision of leaving. It was rough saying goodbye to my precious village and to my mother and grandma, but as soon as I got to Moorland with Nightwish, I got a very warm welcome and felt like I was at home once again. Now, two years later, I couldn't be more grateful of having received that letter. Jorvik is a paradise in every way possible, and I will never, EVER leave here. Plus, I'm special here, I now have a very important role as a Soul Rider..
Ylva Starward is growing up in Jorvik! When she first arrived at Moorland stables to learn to ride I was imagining her to be about 6! As soon as she had mastered the basics on the warmblood Justin leased her she got her first Jorvik pony & had a blast improving her skill & gaining experience in "kindergarten" competitions
Now I see her as about 11 & she is currently gaining confidence on her first show "pony" (I see haflingers as ponies even though they are classed as horses in the game). When she begins competing in more difficult competitions with her haflinger her parents are going to buy her a green Connemara to begin training, who she will ultimately compete with at a "junior champion" level while training a wild welsh mountain pony!
Then she will be old enough to begin riding & competing with horses, but I haven't thought that far ahead for her yet
Her style "evolves" a bit with each new mount she upgrades to, I'm having as much fun developing her look as I am with her riding journey!
I'm planning on creating a post about my characters. This is a very short version.
Signe, Solveig and Sigrid, Kallter triplets- they still have plenty of family and other siblings left at home.
- Signe is the Soul Rider, she was the first to leave for Jorvik. Her personality put simply- secretive, detached, calm and amused. She holds no loyalty to the Druids even though she is a part of their group, this makes everyone wary of her and most do not tell her of the happenings within the Druids, but one way or another she still learns them. - Solveig is the mature one. She is calm, controlled and protective. She never wished to come to Jorvik but was ordered to chase after her sister Sigrid when she ran off. She lives in the circus with Sigrid but keeps close contact with Signe. People say she is a witch, there might be some truth to those rumours. - Sigrid is the genius. She is either a bright inventor and researcher or a mad scientist, possibly both. When she first ran off to Jorvik she caught herself a job at the Silverglade Observatory but was kicked out because of her experiments. No one is sure how she ended up at the circus, one day no one knew of her existence, the next she was putting Pandorian crystal dust into everyone's coffee cups.
Of course, if more names come up in Star Stable that I like, the Northstar family will most likely get more members!

My girl, Gabrielle Friendlove is really friendly and has a lifelong love of horses. Her horse, Heroblood is named for courage and heart. She is not that rich and hasn't got the best riding gear, but she's really kind and loving towards her horse. They are best friends and do everything together. They don't care if they win or lose but rather making new friends. They love riding particularly in Moorland Stables and Nimler's Highland. They also love shopping at the City Mall, they can't afford much but they just love looking at everything.

I'm going to go with Titana Starstrong's story. She was born on Jorvik but moved with her parents when she was very young. She is now staying on Jorvik for a full school year and rides the horse that her parents rented for her, Thunderchaser. She wasn't sure about coming here but now she is glad that she has come. The first Soul Rider she meet was Alex and soon after that Jessica. Both wanted her to join their side. She plays the Panio and has a job as a stable girl.
I do what i do because I love it. Wind Star, alternative account on Frost Valley. 19 horses. Level 21.
Post by Regina Darkcastle on Feb 17, 2019 7:49:41 GMT 10
Fair warning: This is going to be long. I love writing a little too much...
Regina Darkcastle was not born in Jorvik. In fact, before her parents met there, she had hardly any connection to the island or its horses.
Her father, Elias Darkcastle, was an Englishman with distant ties to the isle of Jorvik. His family long ago intermingled with royalty, which drew his family generation after generation away from Jorvik until it was a nearly forgotten, almost fantastical place on the map. Elias is twentieth in line for the throne of England, almost as forgotten by his country as Jorvik was forgotten to his family. However, he had a more prominent tie to the island than he thought. Jorvik had not forgotten him, or the daughter who was a mere twinkle in his eye. A relative of Elias had passed away, and it was written in the will that he would receive a portion of their wealth on one condition. He must move to Jorvik. With nothing keeping him in England, he set off for Jorvik in hopes that he could find a new life there.
Vera Brightland was your typical American who heard of Jorvik from a friend who went to visit. After recently being laid off of her job and stood up on her wedding day, she decided to use the money for her honeymoon to take herself on a refreshing trip where she could put the bustling American life behind her. She settled at Wolf Hall Inn, where Elias happened to be staying while he found a place to live. The two hit it off immediately, but after their short time together, Vera knew she could not abandon her family and friends in America to continue her life with Elias in Jorvik, so she returned home.
Shortly after her return and start at a new job, Vera learned she was pregnant with Elias's child. She gave birth to a daughter who she named Regina. Fearing that her daughter would have to separate herself between Jorvik and America for the rest of her life, Vera neglected to tell her child's father of her. Instead, she ended up married to a man named Dean Silenthill and had a son named Rowan.
Though it would be nice to say Regina had a good childhood, that was far from true. Both Vera and Dean had dead-end jobs that did not earn them much money. They lived in a run-down apartment in Chicago, amidst a bad neighborhood. When Regina was sixteen, her younger brother went missing. Rowan was walking home from the bus stop one day after school but never made it. The police found his body twenty miles away. Her brother's death took a hard toll on the family. Regina got into fights at school, only to come home and get in fights with her parents. Not thinking clearly, she tried to run away, but was caught when attempting to shoplift from a gas station.
As punishment, the judge suggested that instead of going to juvenile detention, Regina could go to a recreational horse ranch for a few months. That was when her mother had the idea to send her to Jorvik for the summer. The judge agreed and before Regina could even protest, she was being put on a plane and sent to the isle of Jorvik to the South Hoof Rescue Ranch.
At first, Regina hated the prospect of being sent half-way across the world when there were plenty of ranches at home. Besides, why would a sixteen-year-old girl want to spend her summer mucking out the stalls of smelly horses all summer when she could be spending it with her friends and mourning her brother? Regardless, she went because she knew it would be better than jail, and was surprised to find out that she actually enjoyed it.
At the ranch, Regina did muck out stalls, but she also got to care for horses who were sick. One horse in particular gained her affections, a light bay Trakehner named Rise of the Morning Star, whose stable name was Star. He was a retiring show horse who had severely injured himself during a show jumping event. His previous owner and rider had been abusive to him and had ridden him too hard when he was already dealing with a respiratory illness. In his panic, he had fallen and fractured his leg. At first, they thought Star was going to have to be euthanized. He was wild and his injury and illness severe. However, he took a liking to Regina and she to him. This bond seemed to heal his leg and her broken heart.
By the end of the summer, Regina found that she did not want to leave Jorvik. She had no sadness here, no bad home, no need for money. Besides, if she did chores and helped a number of the islanders out, they very generously gave her a few Jorvik shillings for her troubles. Besides, she could not leave Star. He was just starting to get better and she did not want to leave him. She begged her parents to let her stay, but they insisted she came home, her mother especially. She did not want Elias Darkcastle to find out his daughter had been in Jorvik all summer.
Against her wishes, Regina returned to America. Hugh often sent her email updates on Star's healing progress. Though he missed Regina, he seemed more resolved to get better. They had started walking him around the paddock. Soon, he'd be able to be ridden again. As she finished her junior and senior years in high school, Regina took a job at a stable in New York's countryside so she could learn more about horses and save up to move to Jorvik. She planned to work at one of the stables there so she could continue making money to financially support herself and Star. She wanted to buy him, and based on the frequent updates from Hugh, no one else was in the market for a troubled horse like him.
Once she graduated high school, Regina finished up her last summer at the stable in New York. Once August rolled around, she wished her parents goodbye and moved to Jorvik with the plane ticket she had bought herself. She had not heard from Hugh all summer and was growing worried about Star. Would he still be there waiting for her? Had something happened to him? When she arrived at the rescue ranch, her worst fears were confirmed. Star was gone, and Hugh insisted that he had tried everything to keep the horse there. Unfortunately, nothing was holding Star back from being sold. He had healed wonderfully, and his behavior had improved tenfold. He had been sold to an Elias Darkcastle who owned a small cottage in Mistfall. He had been looking for a horse to use for leisurely trail rides.
Regina was devastated. For two years she had worked to save up for that horse, for a life in Jorvik, and now that was ruined. Furious, she found the first bus ride she could across the island to Mistfall. She was directed to Elias's cottage where she could see him working in the barn. Two horses were there. Her Star, distinguished by his single white sock, and a black horse. Regina demanded that he give her that horse, that they were best friends and she had been waiting for two years to have him. Elias, however, was shocked by her spirit. Not only did she look like a former lover of his from eighteen years ago, but she had her spirit. He asked for Regina's name, to which she responded that she was Regina Darkcastle. The realization hit. This was Elias's daughter. Immediately, he started crying and hugged the daughter he had never known he'd had. He told her she was free to ride Star any time she wanted, but Regina was confused by these actions and pushed him away, angrily yelling at him for touching her.
Once Elias had gotten her to calm down, he explained that they shared the same last name because they must be father and daughter -- after confirming that her mother was indeed Vera Brightland. Regina was confused as to why her mother would never tell her her father lived in Jorvik, or tell her father that he had a daughter in America. Reluctantly, she agreed to move in with him so she could spend her time with Star. Her father agreed to give her a room in his cottage and pay her for her work with the horses.
Regina and Star still live in Mistfall to this day, but since then she has made a name for herself throughout all of Jorvik. Star has even started to get back in competitions, and Regina is learning how to ride right alongside him.
So here we go... I am Ruby Skywalker. I moved to my current residence at Silverglade from Jorvik City. Life in the city was lots of fun. I stayed with Iris for my time there. She was very sweet and runs a flower shop in Aideen's Plaza. Then there was Yvonne... whenever I went by her house she was SO grumpy sounding! Then there's Konrad, one of the eldest citizens of the city. Every day he'd be out there sitting by the fountain feeding the pigeons. I made a few good friends at the city though. Abigail, Jessica and Sierra often visited Leonardo's Ice Cream shop at Governor's Fall. Iris would take me there once a week, and then we'd go shopping around before heading back home. The hardest part of living in the city was there being no horses. My small bedroom at the apartment we called home was filled with pjctures and paintings and figurines of horses! Little did I know that moving to Silverglade would change my world entirely. (*Spoilers here*) It wasn't until Iris told me that I learned she wasn't my real mother. You see, Catherine Moorland was my mother. I was born a year or so before Justin. When he was born, no one ever told me what happened. All I knew was my Aunt Anastasia, who lived at Governor's Fall, came to me one day and told me to come to the city with her. Her busy schedule with all her fashion stuff made it hard for her to have me stay, with is where Iris came in. Anyway, now being back in Jorvik, things are great. I made friends with Alex Cloudmill and Linda Chanda. Also Derek, the oostman at the village. He's really cool! Oh, and this really mysterious girl. I've seen her riding a white horse around town before. She has the most beautiful red hair though! I hope to really learn to ride and explore Jorvik, and maybe go on some fun adventures while I'm here. I've been paired with a dapple grey Jorvik Warmblood mare in the Silverglade Equestrian Center named Stardust. Judy, the stable warden, said she's perfect for me. We'll see I guess.

I usually make character back stories because my characters become OC’s. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to connect with the game as I have been able to with other franchises. I haven’t made a character background for either of my accounts nor will I until the game gives me a reason to get emotionally invested in it.
Note: I have played up to the recent quest update.

I've been playing around with ideas since I made my character a trans man and how things might be slightly different for him and how they might not change despite his gender identity. I've been writing the story in my head, but I really need to start writing it on actual paper because I'm starting to forget some. Oof. But, if you're looking for a basic back story, here's some info. Toni is a 21 year old trans man. He never really grew up riding horses. He always liked the looks of them and thought they were majestic creatures, but he preferred the company of cats and the neighborhood trashbandits (raccoons, squirrels, foxes, you name it! If it forages or steals trash Toni has probably hand fed it in some dark corner alley or shady wooded area). Things were getting toxic at home because some family members didn't really approve of how he identified, so once he was old enough and the opportunity arrived he moved so he could focus on becoming the person he wanted to be. He only found out later that that opportunity involved a snarky horse named Darkpromise and many more horses to come.
