Hello! So, there is a problem I've been having recently with SSO. Okay so basically, when I started playing SSO it worked FLAWLESSLY for about a month. Then, after this recent update, it has been acting really weirdly..

Everytime I try to play SSO, it works fine for about half an hour. But then, randomly, it either closes without warning or stops working and a message pops up saying "One or more files are corrupt or missing, please reinstall the game from your browser" So, the first time this happened, I just thought it was a one-time problem. But I was wrong. Every single time I try to play, this happens. This especially happens when I try to do a championship and other stuff. First it starts acting weird, such as the horses changing colours, the ground going invisible.. Then it gets really laggy and kicks me out or says "One or more files are corrupt or missing, please reinstall the game from your browser".

I have reinstalled the game multiple times, updated my drivers, deleted some programs to make sure I have enough space, and checked if the requirements are the same as the ones that are needed, and they are. I have tried all of this with no luck.

I am pretty sure this is a known problem, and if any of you have encountered this problem before and managed to solve it I would really appreciate it if you told me how, because it has been close to impossible to play SSO since the recent update since I have to keep redoing quests and dailies.

I would suggest trying to contact SSO, but odds are that this issue will either go away or get better with the next update (issues come and go with updates sometimes) and SSO hasn't been very swift with their replies lately. Waiting is probably the best option, unfortunately. But you're definitively not alone, I've been having all kinds of issues and it's incredibly frustrating when trying to play and then suddenly everything crashes or something gets really weird. Not sure what they did this week, but the game clearly disagreed

Unfortunately, I think the only thing to really do is wait and hope it'll get better when they update the game the next time. Contacting them on as many platforms as possible might be an idea as well, but this seems to be a wide-spread problem so I'm sure they're aware of it and I don't think there's anything you can outright do from your side to fix it anyway.

Last thing you could try and see if that makes the error not pop up, is making sure that you start SSO as an admin. Take a look at the properties of the launcher and the actual .exe to be sure that the proper rights are given.
I had this error as well - but only one time and it never popped up again which means that SSO fixed itself somehow. If it doesn't have the proper rights to write new files, then it obviously can't do that. Maybe give it a shot.

Other than that, as stupid that is... Wait for next Wednesday.

You can't run desktop shortcuts as admin, you need to manually go to the SSO folder which is probably C:\Programs\Star Stable or something similar. There are two .exes. These are definitely possible to run as admin. It doesn't really matter if you run StarStable.exe or StarStableOnlineLauncher.exe as admin, both will open the launcher first.

Weird, so many people having problems lately, the recent update hasn't effected me since i fixed my issue with the Valentines day +updates.

Try this: Uninstall SSO and make sure every trace of it is gone as there could be hidden files. Clean your computer thoroughly and check for hardware problems like corrupt registry which can cause programs to malfunction. Install SSO again and launch the game from the files (StarStableOnlineLauncher.exe) as admin if normally running doesnt work. You could also try extracting the recent updates into your SSO folder it will take about 10 minutes, therefore you wont have any missing files

Lots of people kind of wash past this, and don’t care to check these things. Hopefully this works! If you’ve already tried it I’m not really sure what to do. Good luck! 😁

Already tried that multiple times, even looked through the %appdata% folder and did a disk cleanup to be completely sure, still no luck. Thanks anyways

On MacOS here and the game is unplayable. Same issue; "One or more files are corrupt or missing..." I didn't do anything to cause any files to become missing or corrupt. It's not normal expected user experience to have a game suddenly become corrupt or have its files go missing. That's terrible or lazy developing/programming. I cannot justify paying money for this game while it is so buggy. There are people on Youtube with over 1 million subscribers who have also confirmed the game is riddled with bugs and it is difficult to enjoy due to that fact. It is a shame that there is such a great concept but the company cannot get all the Indian developers to resolve the issues. You might need to do some house cleaning in your development department and project management department. I'd have heads rolling in Product Management department as well. This is really not good user experience and appears to have been happening for the last 3+ years. I'm going to find out if the parent company is hiring because they need help desperately.
