This thread is for people to show off things they have made for their pets! Whether it's something like a cutesy hand-made sweater or collar, a floofy fleece bed...>v> Even things like custom reptile enclosures and DIY Cages made out of furniture!
My example at the moment...xD I plan on making a huge three level enclosure for a pair (or more) of Guinea Pigs! I was always so annoyed at how small and expansive the usual petshop cages are. At some of the big name chain stores, a 70$ cage only has about 4 square feet of living space, and that fills up almost as soon as you put in a food dish, an igloo, a hay feeder and a water bottle. They need to be cleaned constantly since there's no space for them to move around, so all the waste is literally always being stepped in...It's even worse for those who put their guineas in a glass aquarium, which some shops still believe is a good cage for them. Glass tanks for rodents in general are bacterial and respitoryl fungus deathtraps...Best alternative?

C&C Cages!
So before someone asks 'What's a C&C cage?', they're amazing! They are made out of storage Cubes and Coroplast plastic sheeting, which acts as the floor of the cage. They can be expanded, shrunk, made with multiple levels or elevated to use with fabric storage containers beneath the cage! Originally I was going to order a cage from one of the most popular sellers on the market, the Guinea Pig Cages Store, but then I looked up whether or not two of my local stores (Home Depot and CostCo) had the materials I needed to make my own...And they did! For the same price of a dinky little petshop cage (70$), I can build a three level cage with four separate sections!
The dimensions for my cage(s) are going to be the following -
A 30inch wide by 76inch long cage, long enough to fill my entire closet! On top of that will be two 30 inch by 30 inch 'Loft' cages, each with a ramp connecting them to the bottom cage. These will be connected on each end of the base cage, leaving a 15inch by 15 inch 'window' inbetween. Finally, on top of the two lofts, there will be a third loft, a 30inch by 44inch cage with an additional two lofts, to connect it to the other levels. ALL LEVELS will be reachable, and can be sealed off into individual cages for things like accidental babies or to keep babies from happening (Top three stay connected, bottom is a separate cage in this case!) At the highest point, the cage system will be about 44 inches tall. The entire thing is almost 28 square feet of space! 28 feet vs 4 feet, for the same price...Not a difficult choice!
My cage will end up looking something like this (using photos mashed together from the cage site I'd mentioned before, but with ramps included.)
Once I've got the thing all put together, I'll be buying a bunch of fleece and some uhaul blankets to make cage liners :3 As well as little cutesy things like corner cubbies, couches, potty pads, and snuggle tunnels. Similar things can be found here - at the Guinea Pig Market!
I'll post some updates once I'm able to get all my supplies xD would love to see what others have done in the meantime!
