hi!! so i've been going back and forth with support for a while on this issue, but i wanted to see if anyone else was experiencing it or if i could get some feedback from others.
my computer runs windows 10 home. the new system requirements are going to make windows 10 the minimum recommended operating system. this shouldn't be an issue for me, but in the launcher, i'm getting this error:
it reads my operating system as "microsoft windows 10 home", and is saying that it is not meeting the minimum requirements (which, currently, is windows 7).
"microsoft windows 10 home" is not how my computer is referred to anywhere else on my device. everywhere else, it is called "windows 10 home". even if that wasn't the case, i can find nothing online (or by picking the brains of my more tech savvy friends) implying a difference between "windows" and "microsoft windows". furthermore, "windows 10" is a family of operating systems, not an operating system in itself that can be run-- you have to choose windows 10 home, windows 10 pro, windows 10 s, and so on, and all of these are windows 10 operating systems. to compare it to something else, you can't just buy a toyota, you have to buy a toyota camry, or a toyota corolla, and all of those are toyota cars.
unfortunately, i'm having a hard time explaining this to support any clearer, and keep being told to update my windows version to the required windows version. but i can't update to windows 10-- i am running windows 10 already!
i'm assuming this is due to an error in the code on their end, in whatever they're using to read my computer's specs maybe being too narrow to pick up anything but "windows 10" as the right operating system, or maybe something getting confused over how it's being called "microsoft windows 10 home" instead of "windows 10 home" (which confuses me too, because i'm not even sure why it would be calling it that since my computer doesn't call itself that anywhere).
anyway, if someone else is having a similar experience i would love to hear about it. or if someone might be smarter about computers than i am and has some ideas as to why this error is appearing, or why my computer is being called "microsoft windows 10 home" in the first place.
thanks so much!!
