Hey everyone,
I've noticed that many people here own horses or are learning to ride, which is really cool!!! Some of us are just beginners, while many of us are top competitors. So I thought, why not make a thread where people can share tips for horses? Feel free to share your horse tips here, whether new or old.
Some ideas on what to post about:
Riding Tips
Training Tips
Showing Tips
and more!
Just keep in mind to try and make it kid friendly as possible, we have a few younger players here And don't forget to follow the forum rules as well
Here are some of mine:
At a horse show, if a horse has a red tail ribbon, don't go close to it. Unless that horse happens to be yours or you know it well (like it's your friend's) that horse is most likely a kicker, and you should stay away from it as much as possible.
Always work around horses in boots. The day you wear sandals is the day you get stepped on.
Don't go up to a random horse in a paddock and start to feed or pat it (unless it is you are given permission). Other than the horse might be on strict grass limits, it might have behavior/biting issues, and that is when the trouble starts. I've learnt this the hard way when I was mucking at one of my local stables, I decided to pet a horse a little bit, and she (the horse) got a bit grumpy (No injuries though or any biting/kicking). Depending on the horse, you might get different results by doing this.
Okay, that wasn't very much tips from me, I'm just a beginner whose being reading books for years
I'll try to update when I find an interesting tip, and please correct me if I get something wrong.
Enjoy the rest of your day (or night).
