Hey guys, so I don’t play SSO but my girlfriend has for probably 10+ years. I recently setup Star Stable to run on our 4k TV for my girlfriend and it brought up a HUGE annoyance I’ve had for awhile. She’s been playing for many many years and I have a lot of fun trying to enhance her gaming experience, about a year ago I upgraded her to a 4k monitor and that’s where I first noticed this issue.
Why is it that this game even supports 4k but the UI gets almost unusably small yet every other PC game I’ve EVER played has the option to upscale the UI size. All this time and money is being spent on new horses and gear but things as simple as UI scaling and anti-cheat have yet to happen. Don’t get me started on the amount of glitches that force you to relog/call for pickup and the fact that new quests are so rarely added when they’re really not that in-depth at all compared to other games of similar player bases (especially now with the huge mobile popularity).
No other MMO I’ve ever played (WoW, RuneScape, EVE, etc) would allow this to happen for this long. Just watching my girlfriend play this game aggravates me sometimes. The fact that you can get passed up by someone in the last second of an online race by someone blatantly speed hacking (using insanely easy hacking methods) is crazy to me and there’s seemly no penalties for the hacking users (she just told me this seems to be getting better so it’s possible they’re banning accounts that are blatantly hacking now.. one can hope anyways).
I believe they’ve gotten away with letting these issues go on for so long because the majority of the player base is children.
Anyways, rant over. I’m sure not much will change.

There’s lots that annoys me with Star Stable but unfortunately there’s not much we can do to change it. As long as people keep funnelling money into the game as it is, Star Stable know they can get away without fixing or addressing anything.

I'm a new player, but on the mature side with a nice gaming setup. I fully agree with you! The clunkiness at the start very nearly put me off the game after a few minutes of playing. I came back to it, and does have some good gameplay to offer, but I won't stay long if it stays as it is.
I'm also in 4k, and I've been using the map as a kind of mini-map, but I have to move it to the corner of my screen EVERY. SINGLE. TIME I open it up. Even after adjusting the resolution, which is another pain because I like to manage youtube/spotify/work/guides on another screen while I play, and it's a hassle because it minimizes the game and has to readjust the resolution to just do even that.
This is something I'd expect from a game like 15 years ago. Even indie games I play allow you to seamlessly work between monitors if the game is in menu mode, and can save some basic UI preferences.
I just wanted to validate you, and I have hope (probably because I'm new) that they'll fix these glaring issues. If anyone of influence is reading this... you could grow your playerbase a TON just by updating this game to some basic standards gamers enjoy.

cuz some engines dont support Tv Size resolutions. Star Stable runs their own written code engine. I encounter this problem also with the game called guilwars 2 which also has their own original engine written. even tho Ui is scale able. it always ends up blocking either the playfield or you cant read the text well on distance xD
most PC gamers play on pc monitors and thats what SSO is based on too. smaller tvs this might be possible to let it work on but big ones can cause trouble. beside tv is always worse to play on due to the reaction speed delay which is always slower compared to pc monitors
