Hello everyone. I want to start my own club someday. I am looking for someone to help me and give me advice on making my club. Here's what I have thought of so far:
I haven't decided a name yet.
My club events: Dressage, Western, Show Jumping and Cross Country, but also other fun events, because I want it to be so people have choices. They can do all the events, or one or two. I will make it so there's multiple practice days so everyone has a chance to practice. I will only be strict on attendance on the important club meetings. That I will do a vote with the club on when they should be. There also will be days people can do whatever they'd like.
Club Horses. I will be choosing one or two specific horses for each event that fits the type of event, so people have choices. E.G Lusitano or Marwari for Dressage; AQH for Western. (or Mustang, but only AQHs can enter in Reining) I might do polls later to help.me.pick the horses for it.
Club Outfits and Tack. I will make it a simple set of a particular color scheme, with specific tack and outfit to each event, but also be slightly customizable so everyone can make it unique but we'll still look like a group. This way people can avoid having to spend hundreds of SC on the tack and outfits.
I will possibly do an interview process for people to.join, especially when spots b begin to become limited. This way I can tell how active they are, what they are interested in, and if they won't cause drama.
I am not always active, so I'll select some people go be Co-Leaders and I will "train" them on how to schedule and host events.
An important rule my club will need to follow is they have one week to tell if they want to stay or not. Once the week is up, they must have a very good reason to leave and must know that they may not be able to rejoin depending on my decisions.
9. The Club Rank system.
Here's what I'm thinking.
Novice - Just joined, is on their "trial week"
Trainee - Has become a official member of the club. May likely be in beginner or intermediate classes.
Member - Has joined in at least one event and has been in the club for two months. May be in intermediate or starting advanced classes.
Experienced Rider - Elite/Advanced Level Riders who have been in the club a long time.
Champion - An exclusive rank for competition winners. It will be "reset" everytime we have a new competition.
Stable Girl - This is for people who are "on break" aren't sent event info. They go back to their original rank after they return. If they don't return after a week after their specified day and don't reply to their mail sent in 5-7 days after they will be sent a final message. If not replied in 2-5 days they will be removed and may not be back in the club unless they give a really good reason.
Club Leaders - Help to "moderate" the club, find and interview new members, advertise the club, and host events. They must have the SSO Friends App to communicate and be very active.
Riding Instructor - Must be trained and skilled in certain events, they teach event classes and may help host certain events if leaders are unavailable. They must be active enough or have SSO Friends App to be able to check their messages.
I will probably also add a full club schedule and description page onto my blog, but I'm not sure how to tell people about it without trouble. I also don't use social media so it will not require any but I feel like I need to at least recommend members have SSO Friends app to use the in-game mail (requirement for leaders and instructors though!) or PMing on this forum, and I'll definitely suggest the app to anyone who joins if they say they don't have it.
Please let me know your thoughts / advice in comments or you may PM me.
I'm not sure when I'll start the club as I'm saving my sc up for a Christmas shopping spree.
Thanks!
