I'm glad they added the mods, but quite a few of them are very overreactive and will suspend your chat at the drop of a pin. In my experiences, at least.
Nothing against the mods - they're needed, especially in Night Star. We've got the entire peanut gallery that spams, swears, says some very inappropriate things in Global, etc. But there is a handful of people who are more mature and usually are much older and play very late into the night (around 2 to 5 am eastern time) that are always VERY preyed upon. We don't spam the chats. Few of them swear. Few of them ever make inappropriate jokes (most are just odd comments with this face
) and they're all very kind and rule-abiding aside from what I stated. They say such things only around the times I said - which is when I believe no child younger than 14 should be on anyways.
With all of these things said, the mods suspend just about everybody's chat almost nightly. I used to congregate with them, but not much anymore due to the mods. Many of them are considering quitting just because of the mods.
I understand that it's likely to only be one mod, but that mod very obviously picks on certain players. On one occasion, one of my good friends - who, mind you, hadn't used foul language or said inappropriate things all night and had been afk the majority of the time - got her chat suspended. For no reason. I get that she may have been saying something in a private chat, but we've been told by the mods that they never look into the private chat. The entire collection of people who had been on that night and in that general area (including me) had our chats suspended. I personally had only been making sarcastic comments the entire time.
We were discussing within ourselves about how great it would be if they'd create another server for older players, but each one of us got a message that we should go make our own game if we want something like that. There was a number of other rude, unnecessary warnings and comments by the mods.
I don't have anything against mods in general - I just think that, in the case that there is one that's being unfair, they shouldn't be allowed to be mods anymore.
