Decided to write my own little fan-fiction. Don't know how long I'll keep this going

Chapter 1
Silver stood on the edge of the cliff looking out across the sea. The wind blew through her mane as she watched a lone seagull flying in the air far above her. Her bright blue eyes watched the bird's every movement as it flew; free. Just like her.
The young Haflinger soon left the seaside cliff and headed inland, across the fields of South Hoof; her home. Silver had lived here her whole life, well at least the part of her life she could remember. She still couldn't figure out how she ended up here with no parents or relatives of any kind. That's what the herd told her. A kind Welsh Pony mare had found her, only a week old, abandoned on the sandy shores. Swift adopted her as her own daughter and the herd welcomed her as well. She's lived with them ever since, running with the herd; as one. Silver was different though. She preferred being alone, she preferred the "I" not the "we". Shadow, the leader of their herd, got onto her many times for her constant running off and returning late in the night. She didn't see what the big deal was, "There's nothing to harm us out here!" She had said to him and she still believed this, even as she walked into the cove their herd called home.
Swift was the first to greet her, lovingly nuzzling her as only a mother would, "Where'd you run off to this time?" She looked at her with a kind yet stern face.
Before Silver could answer, Shadow stepped up between them, "Where were you!?" He glared at her disapprovingly.
"I...I just went to the sea-side cliffs..." She lowered her eyes and avoided his gaze as she pawed the ground nervously. There was a long pause then Shadow let out a long sigh.
"Come with me Silver, we need to talk." Her gestured with his head for her to follow him as he headed out towards the ancient tree. She followed obediently, not wanting to anger him any further, but when she met his gaze, she didn't see anger. He wore instead a worried expression, as if he had a feeling something bad was going to happen and there was nothing in his power he could do to prevent it.
