I've seen a few collectors on instagram that I follow that play Star Stable as well. I was wondering if any of you collect Breyers, Peter Stones, Schleich, CopperFox, etc. We have virtual horses and the next best thing when we can't have a real horse of our own is to collect models! I collect mostly Breyer (though I do want a few of the CopperFox models) and have around 20 traditionals, a few classics, and a shoe box of stablemates. I don't get models too often and the really only time I get a lot at the same time is BreyerFest!
I've been to BreyerFest 3 years in a row (hoping for 4 this year) and it's been so fun!
My first year was 2013 Denim and Diamonds, I was kinda clueless at what to do exactly I got around okay, found the special run line, watched the performances, and had a mostly fun time (my mom complaining about all the walking, well it IS at the Kentucky Horse Park in July.....and she was complaining about the heat when she was wearing BLACK PANTS! )
Second year was 2014 Silver Celebration as it was Breyer's 25th BreyerFest. I got around better that year, still a bit clueless, but less clueless at the same time lol. One of my favorite performances that year was the live jousting from Knights of Valour! Along with the Knights of Iceland which were on Icelandics. I had lots of fun at the Youtube meet that year! I had a Novelisto model (he was a store special that year) and one girl came up to me and asked how I wasn't dead or maimed XD because there's the NOPD AKA Ninja Pit Of Death which we affectionately call the Breyer Store on Friday, lots of people line up before the gates open and wait so they can go and get the best deals and some exclusive models. This was the year they also did a special performance in the Alltech arena which was amazing!
Third year was 2015 Vive La France. This year was a breakthrough because not only was I allowed to bring a friend along me and said friend were able to go throughout the park by ourselves and wouldn't have to drag around my mom and her boyfriend. IT WAS AWESOME!!! We were able to save so much time, WAY less complaining (even though it was SO HOT, we dealt with it), and got to do so much. We saw some amazing performances like Horseball which we don't have in the U.S. and omg there was one lady seated near us that was so into it like she was shouting "GO BLUE!" "GET THE BALL!" and at one point where the white team was about to score but missed, everyone else went "awww" and then you hear this lady go "YEAH!" and I caught her yelling on camera as I was recording the performance! Then she returns a day later and we could hear her across the arena and we look to each other like "SHE'S BACK! XD" Gotta say that was the best year so far!
I didn't go to BreyerFest 2016, I didn't have the money (applying for different jobs and none respond back ugh) and I didn't have a ride to Kentucky (even if I took a bus, I still wouldn't have a ride IN Kentucky so I would have to walk everywhere and yeah no go). Though thankfully I wasn't crazy about the models this year so I'm not missing out on that. I did miss meeting people and making new friends and seeing people from last year
Hoping for BreyerFest 2017!
