I'm thinking 20 as well, because limiting it to 15/16 would be kind of cheap because well, 5 horses more is not that much but 10 would actually make a difference.
I would love to have a paddock, especially if we would get blankets too :3 But knowing Star Stable we won't, and it's going to be an upgrade for the stable. To be honest I'm fine with everything, since I currently have only 6 horses total so I'm not really suffering about not having space Nevertheless, I'm really excited about this announcement because I know how much people have been asking for this!

This one is really waited for by many many players! Can't really wait.
I'd like to see that the stable would receive an upgrade not only in size, but also in design. It would really be nice if it looked like a real stable with more realistic boxes for horses, in this state it looks like a random barn with some walls to indicate where another space for an animal starts. They haven't upgraded the home stable design since they released this "home stable where you can walk into" -feature 3 years ago, and the horse amount in stable has been increased only once (first we were allowed to have 6 horses, then 10).
If they double the capacity of the stables, they need to also make some modifications to horse caring system while being in your home stable. Taking care of 10 horses one by one is already a pain in the butt, imagine 20. It would be nice if they made it faster, like the dailies in stables.
I won't really benefit about this whole stable expansion, even though my main account has at least 35 horses. I never keep my stable full, because I'm too lazy to take care every single one of them every single day, and I'm sometimes too miserly to buy stable care. ^^' I always keep 3-4 horses in stable at the time, others are having vacations on Horse Island. Maybe if taking care of horses in home stable is made faster and cheaper (urgh those hay prices), I would keep my stable full. We'll see...

I was also thinking the other day each stable location should be a seperate stable you can unlock, so you can buy more room for horses that way. On one hand I'm guessing selling horses is a big source of income, but on the other hand they limit how many horses you can have and discourage getting any more because you're stuck paying for a clumsy system that leaves you mostly unable to enjoy them, without paying more for more inconvenience.
Not gonna lie, I have had secret daydreams when I saw those abandoned farms (like the unfortunate Dew farm) that one day, we'd get our own farm. We'd be able to put our horses in the stables, leave them to roam the pastures, ... Would feel so much more organic than parking them like a collection of cars. Having more room, and more visual enjoyment would absolutely make me go on a buying spree. Dare I say, to collect ALL the horses?
Whatever they do, I hope they do it sooner than later. I had to send another horse to the island to free up some space. Seems like 8 is the maximum number that doesn't look overly crammed in to my eyes. With a Shire in the line-up it is hard for it not to feel crowded.
So yes, please to more space. And I agree with Nina, more visual enjoyment too. Give us a space for our horses to roam, something like the New Hillcrest Stable, with that paddock out back.

A paddock would be cool. Maybe you could see your horses roam around, and you could lead them around. It would be a lot of game coding though, so more stable room is more likely. Whatever the decision, I 100% support it! Although I usually only have 3 horses at a time, haha.

Paddock could solve the "I can't fit all of my horses in the stable so off they go to Horse Island to be forgotten mostly forever until I pick them up then realize I never missed them so I sell them anyway" issue. You could fit... I'd say 20 in your home stable. But oh no, you don't have enough space for that new Frezzy? Fit it in your paddock. Looking at SSOs general paddock size I'd say you could fit about 10-15 extra horses in there.
For people with loads of horses Horse Island is still available, but now they have an extra space for other horses that shouldn't be forgotten! The only way to ride "paddock horses" however is to take a horse in your stable, click some sort of "swap out with paddock horse" option, and now that horse is in your paddock, and the other Frezzy is in your stable!
I'm cold; put on a sweater.
I'm not active anymore. Who needs relaxation and video games when you have to prepare for getting into AP courses?
Twenty sounds like a good, round number to me. And I like that paddock idea. The swap out option could be on that cork-board. No reason not to employ an existing feature and add to it.
I tried to plan out what horses I would buy when I decided to take on a sub and become a Star Rider. But like all good plans, the moment you put them into actual play...poof! It all goes to, well, you know. So now I am simply adapting my plan as I go along. Not really my fault; they keep tossing these really nice horses out there for us and I just have to have one or two.

I like the paddock option! Say it's like you go into your home stable and then there's another door at the back or side that leads you to the paddock (so it's not in the actual world) then you can see your horses in the field grazing (doubting they would move on their own because that would take a lot of programing!)

My latest half-formed theory is that the new stable is going to be a December/Christmas update, UNLESS they release it in September for Star Stable's birthday. Among the upcoming features the game announced in that Star Stable show episode at the beginning of the year, the new larger stable seems to be the most desired/talked about in informal discussion. And Christmas of 2015 was Epona, and 2014 was Dino Valley, BUT they've already released a new land this year, South Hoof. So that's my thinking -- though I can't wait for a larger stable. But the year is dwindling down and we still don't have the new stable update, so ... anyway I hope we get it next month in honor of SSO's birthday, but if not, I think it will be our Christmas present, so to speak.

The Magic of Winter December 07, 2023
Hey, Starfam! A snowfall has dusted Jorvik in a powdered-sugar coating, turning it into a sweet, winter dreamscape. Sleighs are dotted around the land, ready to whisk you away to the magical Winter Village!
But something’s not right!
The Winter Village lacks luster. A dullness has tinged its usual sparkle. A mischievous capran has broken the most magical winter crystal that harnessed all of winter's magic! Winter Magic has scattered across the village and things have gotten a bit chaotic, leaving the energy wild and unbalanced. It must be restored and only you can bring the Winter Village back to its former charm!
You must restore the crystal by collecting magic and channeling it properly! Winter Magic is bestowed upon those who participate in any of the numerous winter activities.
First, meet the Mischievous Capran in the Winter Village, where he will attempt to explain himself and start you on your journey.
Winter Activities Collecting Winter Magic doesn’t only restore the crystal, it also rewards Jorvik Shillings, Horse XP, Player XP, Tokens, clothes, or tack! There are many activities, new and old, to partake in:
★ Ice carving with Alex. Create a frosty masterpiece!
★ Weather reports show that the blizzards have returned! Help your fellow Jorvegians survive the snow crisis. Two snow storms will appear per day and rotate every hour so you have multiple opportunities to catch them both.
★ Collect magical snowflakes around the Winter Village to earn Winter Magic
★ Ride through snow piles
★ Randomized festivities in the Winter Village. These festivities shuffle every hour. So make sure to return often to complete them all! These can be found around Jorvik, but most are found in the Winter Village. Don’t miss the Penguin Concert and Stargazing which have been revamped this year!
The Yule Tree Step into the Winter Village and what could there be? Six wrapped presents sitting under the tree!
Visit the Yule Tree at the center of the Winter Village each day in December to unwrap a new treat. There are six gifts already waiting for you! Don’t worry if you miss a day, gifts will remain wrapped and waiting until you return. Just don’t forget to collect them all before the Wednesday update on January 10th!
Frost-Fueled Excitement The exhilarating Fast and Frosty Race, along with the Winter Village Race, are back! Gear up for an unforgettable winter racing experience.
New Game Onboarding! Our new players can enjoy a brand-new beginning to the game. This longer introduction takes you to a brand-new location, the Riding Camp! This content will match the quality of quests we make today and represents the excitement of the game to come. Players can now meet the Soul Riders at the very beginning of their Star Stable journey.
Any players who have not completed the old onboarding quests, will be reset so they can enjoy the full experience.
New Starter Tack Of course brand-new onboarding must come with an upgraded starter tack for your horse! Everyone who still has their starter tack will have theirs replaced with the new one. The original tack is now for sale at Marley’s Farm if you’re feeling nostalgic. Also, in case you deleted your starter tack, the new one is available for all in the Global Shop. Both will be at a lower price!
Retrofitting tack The Icelandic, Shire and Arabian will now be able to wear more items in game as we have retrofitted tack to be compatible with these breeds! We cannot wait to see all of your in-game pictures and edits with more outfits.
Bonus Shop! A new item is available in the Moorland Bonus Shop to all of you who became Star Rider by one-time payment! This feline Night Rider is a rebel at heart! Kitt is the perfect mix of adorable and adventurous!
Coming NEXT WEEK! The return of magic beckons newfound companions to the Winter Village. Encounter the charm of two sweet and frosty horses, the delightful Lebkuchen and the frost-kissed Vetle, accompanied by their companions, Gumdrop and Murrlan!
Have a cozy week!
Love from your Star Stable Team ♥
