So i imagine some other players have done this as well.
I myself have bought three horses and one pony i didn't really want.
The pony i sincerely didn't want to buy at all, i never planned on getting a pony, but i bought the cheapest one in Fort Pinta just so that i could complete the pony race quest.
The three horses i got are the dun morgan in Crescent Moon Village, the silver friesian sport horse in New Hillcrest and the sable cream dun mustang that you get in the foal app.
For me, wanting a horse means i've saved up starcoins for weeks to buy it. I am a lifetime and i don't buy SC very often, so i have to wait for weeks in order to save up enough SC to buy a horse. Sometimes there's a new breed/new colors i'm not interested in at all, and at this point i may have saved up enough SC that i can buy any horse in the game...and sometimes that is exactly what i do. I just buy a horse i kind of want...but not really. "Aaah, i have enough starcoins, i'll buy...this one!"
I just buy a horse i kind of want to get the excitement over having new horse and finding new gear for it. It doesn't mean i don't like them, of course i do, otherwise i would have gotten a different horse, but its just....i don't know.
So what do you guys think? Ever bought a horse/pony you regret wasting SC on?
Since I've never bought sc before, except when I got lifetime, I've had to save for horses as long as I can remember. Because of that, I generally have enough time to decide whether or not I really want a horse. While I have a quarter model that I never ride, getting that horse and training it showed me that I'd never want to get another one because the gaits annoy me pfft. As far as regret? Nah. It taught me something and I only plan to buy horses that I want (which is just about all of them, excluding a select few....rip me ahahaha).

A couple of years ago, I really wanted an Arabian-Thoroughbred. I wanted the silver dapple one that I think is in Firgrove. My second choice was the black one at the Goldspur's Farm. I didn't know where my first choice was, and I was too lazy to ride around looking for it. Me being the impatient person I am, I just bought the black one and now I regret it. She is a stunning little horse, but I think I would have been much happier with the silver dapple one. I also bought the bay Welsh Pony instead of the Palomino one that I really wanted. I still love my Welsh Pony but whenever I see him I think that he looks like a nut. I also decided to randomly buy the cheapest pony on the Pony Barge, the bay one. He's adorable but I don't have any idea as to why I bought him. I also randomly bought a very ugly all-brown old-animated Morgan after the new Morgans came out and I'm not entirely sure why I did that. I bought the purple and silver Jorvik Wild Horse when I wanted the black and red one. I would never sell any of my horses though because I worked so hard to train them.

Yes - all three of the recent Jorvik wilds. I bought them because their "city colors" were gorgeous. Trained them all to level 15 and now they're collecting dust in the pasture. I still ride them once in a while when I'm not currently training a new horse I have. It's a love/hate thing, I suppose!

I bought two horses that I didn't really want. I bought an Arabian only because I wanted to get every species of horse in the game and I bought a new Jorvik Wild horse just for the heck of it since I knew the same horse wouldn't be coming back into the game again.

I made an impulsive decision to buy a Paint horse from Marley's, since it was the new model. Honestly, I didn't actually want it, I was just itching to buy a new horse since I had extra Star Coins. It's still sitting in my barn at level 1. Poor thing. What makes it really unfortunate is that I didn't realize that it was the same model as my AQH, so it kind of just felt like I had bought the same horse over again.

I bought a fjord when I had gained the reputation with the Kallters. I never trained her and it seemed to me that no tack set fit her, so I sold her after 6 months. When the new Friesian sport horses came, I impulsively bought the silver one. I guess I didn't think it through, now the poor horse is just in my paddock, untrained. The same thing happened with the new Jorvik wild horses, I bought the green one but haven't been interested in training it at all. I guess I bought him just because they'd soon be gone so they are kinda special.

I love all my horses on my new account, despite the fact that they're mostly level 2 or 3. I'm just too lazy to go train. I've never gotten a horse that I didn't like, but I disliked their color. On my old account I bought both the black Thoroughbred and the bald-faced black Shire with chrome. I loved them both, but my tack color scheme just didn't fit either of them, so I rarely rode them. The only horse on my current account that I'm slightly iffy about is my grey Paint - I had always wanted her on my old account, so I bought her on impulse with the SC that I got from lifetime. I wasn't originally very thrilled about her but she's grown on me. Normally I don't really dislike any horses that I buy because I spend months just mooning over them. XD

I have also bought horses where i don't so much regret buying the breed, but i regret the color i got. I got the white icelandic and looking back now that i see what other colors they have released since then(the black, the grey and the black/white one), i would either have gotten the chestnut one or the grey one instead of the white.
But even though i have some horses/colors i (kind of) regret getting, i have never gotten rid of any horses. Selling them is so pointless. Because, you know, getting 2500 jorvik shillings is totally worth the hundreds of star coins i spent on them... Not!
For me it was the North Swedish horse. Don't get me wrong, I love the great big shaggy fella, and he'll always have a special spot in my heart, but I don't use him often any more. I bought him specifically to move around Dino Valley unhindered by the cold. I wanted to get that zone out of the way as much as possible and advance my level. He served and served well at that. But there are Icelandics in my roster now and probably soon a Haflinger. So the big guy is enjoying pasture time and relaxation.

Nope. There is literally only one horse I would never buy. It pays to be easy to entertain. If I'm not sure about a horse, I study it and think it over. Star Coins are too precious to waste. The closest I've come to this was selling my pony for room back before Horse Island was a thing. I've since bought him back after it.

I regretted buying my pony almost the minute after I had too. I was not allowed to buy star coins so I had to save them up. I was originally aiming for a Morgan but when I went too look at the ponys I caved in and bought one. I never ride it, and I am debating whether I should sell it or not.
Yeah, I've definatly regretted buying a horse. The fleabitten thoroughbred. I love his colour but I bought him because he looked like a famous race horse in real life. But as soon as I got him I didn't have that connection with him like I do with ALOT of my other horses. And I don't really like their gates, like the shires and I had the same thing happen with my grey shire. So there you go.

The Magic of Winter December 07, 2023
Hey, Starfam! A snowfall has dusted Jorvik in a powdered-sugar coating, turning it into a sweet, winter dreamscape. Sleighs are dotted around the land, ready to whisk you away to the magical Winter Village!
But something’s not right!
The Winter Village lacks luster. A dullness has tinged its usual sparkle. A mischievous capran has broken the most magical winter crystal that harnessed all of winter's magic! Winter Magic has scattered across the village and things have gotten a bit chaotic, leaving the energy wild and unbalanced. It must be restored and only you can bring the Winter Village back to its former charm!
You must restore the crystal by collecting magic and channeling it properly! Winter Magic is bestowed upon those who participate in any of the numerous winter activities.
First, meet the Mischievous Capran in the Winter Village, where he will attempt to explain himself and start you on your journey.
Winter Activities Collecting Winter Magic doesn’t only restore the crystal, it also rewards Jorvik Shillings, Horse XP, Player XP, Tokens, clothes, or tack! There are many activities, new and old, to partake in:
★ Ice carving with Alex. Create a frosty masterpiece!
★ Weather reports show that the blizzards have returned! Help your fellow Jorvegians survive the snow crisis. Two snow storms will appear per day and rotate every hour so you have multiple opportunities to catch them both.
★ Collect magical snowflakes around the Winter Village to earn Winter Magic
★ Ride through snow piles
★ Randomized festivities in the Winter Village. These festivities shuffle every hour. So make sure to return often to complete them all! These can be found around Jorvik, but most are found in the Winter Village. Don’t miss the Penguin Concert and Stargazing which have been revamped this year!
The Yule Tree Step into the Winter Village and what could there be? Six wrapped presents sitting under the tree!
Visit the Yule Tree at the center of the Winter Village each day in December to unwrap a new treat. There are six gifts already waiting for you! Don’t worry if you miss a day, gifts will remain wrapped and waiting until you return. Just don’t forget to collect them all before the Wednesday update on January 10th!
Frost-Fueled Excitement The exhilarating Fast and Frosty Race, along with the Winter Village Race, are back! Gear up for an unforgettable winter racing experience.
New Game Onboarding! Our new players can enjoy a brand-new beginning to the game. This longer introduction takes you to a brand-new location, the Riding Camp! This content will match the quality of quests we make today and represents the excitement of the game to come. Players can now meet the Soul Riders at the very beginning of their Star Stable journey.
Any players who have not completed the old onboarding quests, will be reset so they can enjoy the full experience.
New Starter Tack Of course brand-new onboarding must come with an upgraded starter tack for your horse! Everyone who still has their starter tack will have theirs replaced with the new one. The original tack is now for sale at Marley’s Farm if you’re feeling nostalgic. Also, in case you deleted your starter tack, the new one is available for all in the Global Shop. Both will be at a lower price!
Retrofitting tack The Icelandic, Shire and Arabian will now be able to wear more items in game as we have retrofitted tack to be compatible with these breeds! We cannot wait to see all of your in-game pictures and edits with more outfits.
Bonus Shop! A new item is available in the Moorland Bonus Shop to all of you who became Star Rider by one-time payment! This feline Night Rider is a rebel at heart! Kitt is the perfect mix of adorable and adventurous!
