I've been watching anime since around 2013! I have a list of all the anime I've seen but for now I'm just going to list my favorites (also recommendations).
Attack on Titan
This anime has epic animation, music, voice acting, characters, plot... everything. The plot is extremely interesting and keeps going deeper. Every episode evokes the viewers emotions in some way and is filled with either pure and raw action, plot, or both! So absolutely no fillers. The quality also stays consistent in all the seasons, imo. This is my all-time favorite! Just watch out for the gore if that's not your thing.
Clannad and Clannad: After Story
The first season happens in school but the second season does the unspeakable and continues even after that. Both seasons are emotional but the second season is the reason this anime is considered so great. It tells a sweet story about life, death, love, hate, happiness, sadness... and ultimately, the importance of family. The story also succeeds as a love story even without kisses and all that. I can't decide on whether Clannad is tied with AoT or if it's my second-favorite.
Your Lie in April
The story is about classical instruments and love, I guess. All the characters are likable and the art style is unique. You'll cry.
ERASED
This is seinen for a reason as the story is quite dark at some points. Basically this anime is about time travel and child abuse of sorts.
The Promised Neverland
Also dark and kind of gore (what's up with me liking either really dark or really sweet anime??). The characters are young kids which is interesting. Overall a good story, the end is just a little too fast imo.
Orange
Basic shoujo with a pinch of time travel. Handles some heavy topics way better than maybe some other anime.
Tokyo Ghoul
Interesting world and characters. The first season is the only one that was actually good, the others make me want to read the manga to get the full experience.
Kokoro Connect
The story and characters are way too deep and interesting for the childish art style.
Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day
You'll cry at least once but I almost didn't watch this because of the annoying first scene/episode lol.
Some movies:
A Silent Voice
Too good! Lovely story, characters, animation, music I guess... Kind of want to read the manga too.
your name.
Kind of overrated but good, still. Interesting idea.
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time
Good but underrated. Surprisingly entertaining. Satisfying ending.
And at the moment I'm watching Steins;Gate and Psycho-Pass which both seem to have a good story and world. Also watching Snow White with the Red Hair and I love it! It's too sweet.
